You don’t have to have a lot of money to throw a great party. You just have to be thoughtful, and at Polished for Pennies, we like to think that if we invest a lot of creativity in what is already around us, that what we do spend money on shouldn’t cost us a fortune! Welcome all of you Gal Pals to my Aunt’s Birthday Celebration that we threw a little bit ago in celebration of my Birthday this month too! 🙂
My Godmother and Aunt Vittoria, yes we share the same name, or as we like to call her Aunt Vick or Wacky, is one of the most caring, loving, thoughtful and nurturing people I know. Her sweetness and her warm nature can be felt by everyone she meets and I wanted to create for her a table that was just as sweet, inviting, and colorful as she is. She is also a HUGE nature lover, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect symbol to celebrate her beauty and gain inspiration from than the butterfly!
We used a bunch of items for the table from our house… my Mommom’s table cloth, vintage dishes, cups and saucers, and mix matched plates that all aided to the table’s wonder filled feeling. But the butterflies were a purchase from Marshalls for $3.99 per pack of 6 that gave the table a free spirited flight and raised the birthday setup bar a couple notches. Using them as napkin rings, I wrapped each colorful cocktail napkin with a unique paper butterfly ring, and nestled them on top of each champagne flute as if they landed there. They are unique, special, and Polished for Pennies.
What an Artsy August idea for a party and one that isn’t perfect but perfectly Polished for Pennies!
