Gals! So you may remember this $7.00 white guess dress from one of our Happy Hour Style posts that we did back in March! Great stretch, POP, Zipfactor and price point… this thing was ridiculous! So ridiculous, I had to doll it up one more time for my Marshalls Blogger Challenge of scoring a night time look that sizzles for under $125!
So here’s how I made it POP this time… First check out the video below, where me and fellow Marshalls fab-blogger Marisela of Diverse City Style, both score awesome finds to style a look to wow at night time for under $125!
Okay, now that you’re caught up… here are some of my favorite pieces of this look! Keep in mind, if you’re looking towards this post for style inspiration, play dress up in your head with what you already have in your closet, or things that may be similar, and how you can create a look that’s Polished for Pennies too! We know our Gal Pals love a challenge! So, obviously the white dress was a perfect way to add that springtime sexy with the tight fit and flared skirt, but since at night that temp still drops, adding the knit sweater for $29.99 gave this look a little more warmth and interest. With the exception of the wider knit that still shows some much wanted skin it’s still a tasteful play on accentuating your body without revealing just a little too much! You know we like to leave people wanting more…
Speaking of more… the white faux leather jacket I got at Marshalls WAS EVERYTHING! It’s THE BOMB!!! I don’t even know if anyone says that phrase anymore, but I don’t care! For $49.99 that jacket was beautifully made and worth every penny. The ZIPPERS. The freaking ZIPPERS were “Heavy is Luxury”, and that thing felt like it costs way MORE than fifty bucks! Plus, it added a little more edge for nighttime, that I think is important when you’re wanting that extra bit of sultry for a spring night out on the town. Besides, a leather or faux leather jacket, is a super simple and polished layering piece for any Gal Pal to rock during any season! Definitely a good investment piece to have on hand!
And since even my clutch was white and matched my sweater, dress and jacket, I decided to add black laser cut heels to break up the white and add a touch of rebel! I think contrast is a really great thing to keep in mind when styling any look. I say, either go all in with one color, or play around with added POPS of dark with light or light with dark! It brings out your playful side and adds depth to your style.
With a few more Polished for Pennies touches like metal necklaces and a hot pink lip, my look for under $125, gives me confidence, POP, and a fab attitude to hit the town for cocktails with my Gal Pals or dine al fresco! So who’s ready to head out!? What do you think Gals? Would this white hot layered springtime look be a style you’d rock?
