SPRING FLING*

Gal Pals, as you know the Philadelphia weather has been bonkers recently! One day its hot the other day its cold, and on those days, does it not feel like you’re left out in the cold when it comes to knowing what to wear?! Before you know it you’re walking out the door wearing your winter jacket and a pair of flip flops! It’s confusing I know! But I will say its also an opportunity to layer, which can always take your wardrobe out of the dull drums and into the swing of things fast!

The layered look I threw together a few days ago can be a perfect Polished for Pennies example of how to cover but expose just enough when the weather is around the 60’s. I started with a simple olive green sleeveless dress from H&M. The turtleneck was perfect for weather and the length was great because it covered the knees from a chill. To add a little whimsy and incorporate some spring, I added a simple blush pink spaghetti strap dress from Banana Republic over top. As soon as I did this, PolishedC ask, “Are you going for a Kanye feel?” And if you’re familiar with his clothing line of military chic… she hit the look on the nose! lol So I knew I was on the right track to style. It may not have been common but it was getting cool.

I finished the look with a linen flowy wrap from BCBG and incredible olive Marc Fisher suede ankle boots from Nordstrom Rack! I got them recently for under $20! Nordstrom Rack was having a killer EXTRA 50% off winter boots sale so these babies made it home with me!

I also added a few more pleasant style notes with some Warby Parker shades and my vintage Fendi bag I got at a thrift shop years ago! You may have seen it in this post from the past… CLICK HERE.

Either way, if you’re looking for an OOTD that won’t make you M-A-D when it comes to wonky weather, Gal Pals layering is key and of course layering on your CONFIDENCE! Don’t let the weather get ya down! Put on things you love, layer them up, and you’re golden like the sun once again!

Happy Spring Gals! 🙂
